Raytown Walmart reopens after bomb threat
Saturday, October 13, 2012 1:17 am GMT
Raytown police said the Walmart store at 10300 Missouri Highway 350 was evacuated Friday afternoon because of a bomb threat.
Police said someone called the store just before 5 p.m. and reported that there was a bomb inside the building.
All employees and customers were asked to evacuate. They are being kept outside while police wait for a bomb and arson squad from Olathe Kan. to do a sweep.
This is the third time since July that someone has phoned in a bomb threat to this particular store on a Friday afternoon. No explosives were found after the first two incidents.
A Walmart spokesperson told KMBC 9 News that the company did not think the latest incident was linked to the previous ones.
The store was given an "all clear" shortly after 7 p.m. and reopened to the public.
