Kansas trooper injured while chasing bank heist suspect

Shots were fired at a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper during a pursuit of a man sought in connection with a bank robbery in Chase Kan.
Lt. John Guerrero of the Kansas Highway Patrol said the bank in Chase was held up earlier in the day. No injuries were reported in the robbery.
At some point after that a trooper began to pursue someone he believed to be responsible for the robbery.
Guerrero said the subject of the pursuit fired shots in the direction of the trooper. The trooper was not shot Guerrero said but did suffer a minor injury possibly from broken glass.
KWCH-TV reported that a woman who was in the car with the man was shot and taken to a hospital. There were also children in the car during the pursuit but there was no word of additional injuries.

Guerrero said the man was taken into custody late Tuesday. No other details were immediately available.
