Air dryer catches fire at Grandview plant

Grandview firefighters were called to a small fire at Caravan Ingredients early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters said the fire was reported on the third floor of the building in the 13800 block of Botts Road about 5:25 a.m.
Crews reported there was moderate smoke when they arrived.
Plant employees safely evacuated.
Authorities said the fire was located in a commercial air dryer and was quickly extinguished. Damage to the machine was estimated at 50000.
No injuries were reported.
Caravan Ingredients makes premixes and baking supplies.
